"Throughout the various sessions I had at James’ Place I started to feel a lot better in myself, I started to feel normal again and in some of my sessions I was even able to start having a laugh and a joke, something I hadn’t really done naturally in a while."
WHAT IS JAMES' PLACE
In June 2018, James' Place was opened by HRH The Duke Of Cambridge KG KT, having been financed by The James Wentworth-Stanley Memorial Fund as a non-clinical centre for men experiencing suicidal crisis in Liverpool. The centre will be the first of its kind in the UK and will be based within a townhouse in the Georgian Quarter.
The centre will run on a referral basis only. Visitors will have an initial appointment to ascertain the treatment required and will then be offered a tailored service of one-to-one free therapeutic support during their time of need.
IT ONLY TAKES 3 SMALL STEPS
WHO DO WE HELP?
We provide a service to men in suicidal crisis. Contact us by phone or the form on our website. We will ask a couple of questions to make sure that we can help, and will arrange a time for you to come and meet us. Our service is for men and those who identify as men, over 18.
You will meet with one of our therapists- this is to make sure that we are the right place for you. We are confident that our intervention is safe and effective but will need to make sure that you are clear about what we are offering and that we can meet your needs.
BEGIN YOUR JOURNEY
We believe that our environment and the way that we work combine to make you feel safe and welcome, as you work towards your own recovery. We will work with you and your supporters to keep you safe and help you to move on from your crisis.
WE UNDERSTAND. WE WILL GET THROUGH THIS.
