We are recruiting for our second James’ Place centre, located in Hackney, East London.

James’ Place is a therapy centre for men who are experiencing a suicidal crisis. James’ Place was set up to make the experience of finding help as easy as possible. It offers men a brief, intensive, therapeutic intervention in a safe environment. Men who walk through the door at James’ Place will be in a space where they feel valued and respected.

The first James’ Place opened in June 2018 in Liverpool, the first of its kind in the UK, and has to date supported more than 300 men experiencing a suicidal crisis, delivering over 1,000 therapy sessions using an innovative and safe therapeutic intervention. We have recently set up a second James’ Place centre in Hackney, east London.

We are looking for an experienced mental health professional with demonstrable skills in the area of suicide prevention. You will use your therapeutic skills to offer a collaborative semi-structured psychologically informed intervention supporting the centre user and their supporter(s) to recover from the suicidal crisis and maintain their safety.
