Take Action to Prevent Suicide
James' Place
11/05/26

For Mental Health Awareness Week (11th-17th May), we’re sharing moving stories from men who came to James’ Place in crisis and have since rebuilt their lives, finding new partners, new jobs and new adventures. Their experiences show that suicide is preventable if the right support is available. Click on the thumbnails above to watch Damien, Connor, Ben and Geoff describe how their therapists helped them and what they’ve been up to since leaving James’ Place. (Keep an eye on our socials for more videos coming this week…) To the men who shared their stories for this campaign — thank you.
This year’s theme for Mental Health Awareness Week is ‘Action,’ because, while awareness is vital, real change comes when we take action too. James’ Place saves lives by taking action fast. We provide free, life-saving therapy to suicidal men, usually within two working days of referral. Please help us reach more men in crisis before it’s too late. #TakeActionToPreventSuicide by donating to James’ Place today or sharing our posts on social media.
