World Suicide Prevention Day 2026
James' Place
26/08/26

At James’ Place we have life-saving conversations every day. At our centres in Birmingham, Liverpool, London and Newcastle our teams have hundreds of conversations and therapy sessions with men in suicidal crisis every week.
Men like Simon, who became suicidal after his business collapsed and his relationship broke down.
We offer specialist support, but all of us can be having life-saving conversations in our workplaces, in the pub, at the football, in the car, with friends and family. It could be the first step to someone getting the help they need.
This year for World Suicide Prevention Day we want to encourage people to have life-saving conversation with people they are worried about, as the first step to someone getting the help they need. We have developed some useful tips for having conversations, in poster, leaflet or digital form, as well as some other resources. By sharing these, or sharing our posts on World Suicide Prevention Day on 10th September, you can encourage more people to talk about suicide, and make sure more people know how they can support someone who may be struggling.
You can download our resources here.
You can also request copies of our tips for life-saving conversations as a leaflet by emailing fundraising@jamesplace.org.uk
